Welcome to the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd
                                          Welcome

On behalf of the Good Shepherd Family, welcome to The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd! Established in 1854, The Historical Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd is the oldest black Episcopal congregation in Alabama and the fourth oldest Episcopal congregation in the state. Like many families, we have a long history and many rich traditions. That is why we are excited about the future! We give thanks for our long history, traditions, and the gifts of faith, hope and courage. Above all else we give thanks to God for His great Love to us all. Yes, we are family. And we hope and pray that you will know that you have been among friends - a church family that loves you! You are always welcome here.
Again, thanks so much for joining us as we move in the new millennium. If you are looking for a "church home" may I recommend Good Shepherd - where love, acceptance, and nurture are a way of life!
